I remember you dear friend
You served me well
Never once did you let me down.
I look on you daily, your image always with me
The days spent in welcome climes
Working, playing, creating, rehearsing.
You carried me to and from my workplace
You never once complained or stalled
We grew to know and respect each other.
Only once did I injure you one dark night
You scarred easily, but I was grateful you could heal
Reunited I took much more extra care.
Then your day arrived; there was occasion to move on
You moved to greener city parkways
While I retained this lasting image.
You were always a relaxing sight
Under the plane trees you seemed as one
You blended in well, as part of my world.
Life is transitory isn’t it, we serve a purpose
I’m happy we knew and bonded as we did
Both part of each other’s unique lives.

Apparently this is my 500th post. Amazing!!

A lovely ode to old faithful:)
Thanks Oliana, have a good weekend.
As well, you, Michael, thank you.
What an unusual choice of screensaver, you are full of surprises!
Ah Pooky I’m just full of em. Surprises that is.
You must have really loved her! With have a Ford Focus called Fiona that we have had since she was new about 6 years ago. I feel strangely attached to her. She has been through a lot with us!
It’s good to be attached to the important objects we rely on every day.
Oh and congrats on 500 – quite a feat! How long have you been here?
I started in June last year.
Your blog feels so established, like you have been here for years!
No I just write a lot of posts apparently. Thanks for reading me Pooky.
I guess you must be headed for your anniversary then?
Yes I think it’s 12 June when I first posted. Seems like yesterday.
that is my sister and her husband’s birthday so I’ll try and remember 🙂
What got you started?
About two years earlier I started on an Australian blog as somewhere to put my writing. No one really read anything and so I decided to branch out and came across WP. Then away I went. The interaction between bloggers was what attracted me and encouraged me to write more. And here I am.
The interaction is incredible. All my other blogs have always been self-hosted and it takes a real time to build a following but on WP it all seemed very fast and easy, it’s a most wonderful community.
I agree and very supportive I find.
It’s funny because I like to think I write for myself, but I cherish every comment and am so intrigued by people’s responses and interpretations of what I write.
You are right, it never ceases to amaze me what people write. Some days you can’t help but feel good.
Super congratulations on your 500th post, Michael 🙂
Thank you Lyn, it seems to have happened rather quickly.
First, congratulations on your 500th post! And good poem about your screen saver. Mine is just boring flowers lol.
Thank you Jackie. There’s always a poem in flowers.
Congratulations on the 500, Michael! Entertaining, as always!
CC how lovely to see you. You have been missed this past week. Thank you for your comment.
I’ve missed reading your poetry too, but some days… *smile*
I remember having my faithful Corolla paid for. I had to let it go for a bigger vehicle to fit the growing family in. So – I traded her in for a Highlander. The new debt killed me. But – now – this one too is paid for & I feel a bit of financial relief. If all goes well – I plan to keep her until she decides to leave me. I’m hoping I don’t go first. 😉
Well RoSy if you stay on your side of the road you should be fine. Having a reliable vehicle is so necessary now days. Good to be debt free too, I agree.
