Wind blows cold
Biting, cutting
We sit taking in the sun
Snuggle close
Body warmth
Hands clasped
Heads touching.
Reflecting
Our journey near completion
A final hurdle
One to be negotiated
Your tears, our fears
We shall meet
Together, as one
The demons we will face
Overcome, vanquish
Tomorrow my love,
The surgeon’s steady knife.

That is so powerful, Michael. I just want to read it again and again. I worked on my first poem today (with your encouraging words yesterday) and if I get the courage I’ll post it soon. It’s poems like this that make me want to learn how it’s done.
I look forward to your post Mandy. All writing as you know is trial and error, but as long as you feel you convey your message then you have succeeded. This piece today I am happy you have enjoyed, that’s what all writers want to hear that others have gained something from reading their words. I read your about page so I have some better idea of where you coming from. Good luck with your writing, enjoy it most days it is a lot of fun.
I love the trust, warmth and hope here and wish may everything turn out well….nice lines
