Poem 99 – Discovery

6833032_holding-hands

I see you across the way

Apprehensive. I understand

After all what are you daring?

It may turn out a fizzer

It may turn out not.

I had a dream in which

You stood before me, hands out

Extending me your love, your care

I took one hand, then another,

You drew me to you.

We talked, my ogre status you ignored

Enamoured, engaged, enthralled

Time flew, minutes to hours

Eyes focused, hearts beating

We were as two minds as one.

Space no longer an issue

Tearing away hurts

But time dictates, rules the universe

You sound more confident

I didn’t bite, you’re not regretful

You discovered me.

Wonderful poem Michael. I enjoyed it tremendously. Discovery is exciting is it not?

  3. Those moments when the earth stands still, when time is of no consequence, when you look into another’s eyes.. Beautifully written Michael… And one day not a dream.

  4. Very lovely poem showing deep feeling for another.

  5. The words to express the beauty of this piece eludes me. It’s anticipation that completes in jubilation at being notice is. . . .I’m speachless.
