Wait he said.
So I wait.
Day in day out.
How long?
Four years six months eight days.
Said he would come.
Worth my while to wait he said.
So I do.
The house across the way is odd
Always shrouded in fog
A road going to it
None coming from it.
Coaches arrive
Never depart.
I’ve seen a lot,
You do when you wait
See a lot.
A lot of oddness.
But I have my resolve
He will come
He said he would.
I can’t leave
What if he comes?
What would I do then?
So I wait
And I will
Wait.

Excellent Michael =)
Oh thank you Yves you are always so very kind.
You deserve it!
Thank you.
Oh my. Transports me back to my times of waiting. And watching. And waiting. Loved this, Michael.
Thank you Mandy glad you did so.
Sometimes waiting can be so hard. But if we didn’t wait, then we might miss something. I enjoyed this one Michael.
Thank you Jackie, happy to see you reading my work.
Quite eerie. Makes you wonder and wonder, afraid to wander. Very good.
Thank you nessa for reading and your comment.
Beautiful. I loved it.
Thank you. Larry do you have a blog? Where are you from?
I’m so impatient. Waiting always kills me. Especially waiting for someone.
Well I’d best never be late coming to your house if dinner is involved, be all eaten if I’m running late.
LOL – Yes. But – I’d save you a plate.:)
Oh good but with some dinner on it?
Ha – yes.
Excellent Michael, this reminds me of a love song, the promise of a return … which never seems to arrive.
Thanks Georgia a bit like life actually waiting for something.
Yes, I know what you mean, that sensation of it’s just about to happen … and then something else does!
Exactly.
Yeah, I thought so, known the feeling .. like expecting a surprise birthday party when you’re 11 but your folks acting like it’s just another day.
I take it that is an example from your past?
Yeah … must admit it is. A promise unfufilled.
I am sure since then you have made up for it.
😉
