Come follow me into this dream
Watch us encounter twists and turns
Don’t be afraid take my hand
Its good to get your feet wet on a rainy day
Splash in a puddle climb out the other side
The ride will be magic just you and me
We’ll sail upon an ocean in a rusty dinghy.
Under an oak tree we’ll have a picnic
Sitting together on an old blue rug
With a pot of tea and a silver mug
You’ll see fairies dancing a jig
Don’t join in you have two left feet
When this wild dream is over today
Remember every detail come what may.

I like how you’ve mixed metres here, it gives the poem a very nice rhythm – and of course the idea of a magic ride with pixies and puddles always makes my heart smile! *smile* Great job!
Thanks CC using metre is never easy I find, thanks for your kind comment.
Well, as someone who was petrified of metre, form and syllables I hope I’ll be able to enthuse you a bit more as time goes by (not saying I’m all-knowing and calm as a cucumber now – far from it!)… You write so beautifully and I’d just love to see what you would do within the (loose) constrictions of form.
Thanks CC I enjoy having a go.
Fairies and puddles, what fun. I can never understand parents who won’t let their kids splash in puddles. I still splash in puddles whenever I can. Puddles are an important part of life 🙂
I think that would be a great sight Lyn, do you have photos? Thanks so much for your comment.
Very nice mix and I can’t wait to sit and drink tea in a silver mug, on your blue rug, and see the jigging fairies!
You’ll have to come on down Georgia they are shy though, like me.
Now that would be an interesting trip Michael…
Wonderful day-dreamy piece Tommy. It made me smile!
Thanks Serena I appreciate your comment. Have a good day. Michael.
I’ve just realised I’ve been calling you Tommy for the past 2 months. I do apologise!
It’s ok, my blog name can be confusing. Have a good day.
Great poem Michael. I always did like fairies.
Thanks Jackie I have jigging ones around my way.
Ah another smile with 2 left feet but I still dance.. sho cares now at my age. You did nicely with this… I was a bit pressed for time and chicken but I may buy that book. 😀
It’s a good read. Thanks for reading my ‘sonnet’.
I enjoy reading your poetry…I still do not get yours and Georgia’s in my email alerts…have unfollowed and followed with both blogs.
Well that happens and I don’t understand either, but I am here most days.
I love this! So magical and lends itself beautifully to the rhythm which skips along! 😊
Thank you happy you enjoyed it.
A little bit of whimsy & romance – LOVE!
Thank you RoSy, happy you found this one so.
