Poetry Prompt 33 – Twelve Lines Long – Arrival

write-a-poem-which-is-twelve-lines-long

You came across the great divide riding proudly upon a silver stallion

You could have thought you would have made it this far

I stood there all nerves and expectation, waiting for you

A thought came to me that you might run

Heel about pronto through the nearest exit door

But you stood smiling serenely at me

A journey worth the wait

Anticipation, excitement all met

Take my hand

Let’s go

Now.

    I love your 12, 11, 10, 9, 8 approach – I shall squirrel it away as a prompt for another day.

I enjoyed the sense of anticipation here, that kind of nervous energy is depicted perfectly.

That’s cool how you did that! “Heel about pronto” is a great phrase!

Great post Michael, I too enjoyed your word count down. How clever. But the words themselves are good, the anticipation and the nerves and then the serene smile. All was well.

Beautiful. And coincidentally my own effort chose to write in the same format of words per line (but with an added twist) before I read your engaging words here.
