Awakening
A car goes by
Silence
I lie still
What day is it?
Oh Saturday.
Shopping
More silence.
Time to reflect
Time to gather self
Time to take stock
Time for me.
My aloneness
Is ok
I am used to me
Me is ok.
Me plays fair
Me laughs at my jokes
Me loves my cooking
Me comforts me when down
Me loves me.
My world is big
Family is large
Love them, care for them
As they grow within themselves.
My solitude,
My space
Precious world.
To be invited in
You must be
Above special
Unique.
See me
As me.

What a great poem – I feel the same way about my time alone though I have to say I don’t really like my cooking! Since I stopped cooking for a family I seem to have forgotten how to make a decent meal. 🙂
Thanks Suzanne my attitude is if I don’t like my cooking I’m in trouble as no one else will cook for me.
By that logic – I’m in trouble 🙂 I have been known to throw out what I’ve cooked and settle for a cup of soup and some toast.
It’s good to like oneself, especially if it’s all you have at the moment. Solitude does not have to mean loneliness, and I think you conveyed that Michael.
Thank you Jackie and how lovely to see you drop by my solitary world.
A very nice poem! And a beautiful image to go with it.
Thank you very much Tiny so happy to see you read my work. Please call again.
You put a positive spin on being alone which is great 🙂
Thanks Justine, that’s a lively comment I appreciate it.
hehe x sometimes im lively
“My aloneness
Is ok
I am used to me
Me is ok.”
This rests well in my soul…beautifully put together. If the world felt this comfort…
Thank you so much, happy it resonated with you. Please call again.

Oddly enough this made me think about being lonely!
I really enjoyed the strong wording and confidence – our own company is wonderful. If I ever have a time when I am not at peace just with my own company, I know I have something to work through.
I often find myself frazzled and purposely making myself busy at these times. Not busy but Unreasonably busy!
#Beautifully written

Thank you Lou. I like you make some connection to my words. We each respond to being frazzled in our own ways. I clean something.
You too?! When I get anxious I usually scrub the tile grout with steel wool and a toothbrush to help prevent an anxiety attack!
Sometimes I will wash all of my clean clothes in their almost exact colour groups. This is how I order my clothes in the closet.
Thank goodness this is only an issues once every 3-4 months, as OCD can be exhausting!

I can say mine was OCD, more when I was married to get away from the WW.
WW – Wicked Witch?
Forgive me if that was Waaayyyy of base…
Spot on Lou!
LOL Oh noes!!
Love this!
Especially love – “Me loves me.”
🙂
Thank you RoSy. It warms my heart to know you enjoyed this poem. Me loves me too.
Precious alone time is so needed at times, to simply be us and not someone else’s us. Enjoy.
Thank you, we all respond to solitude in different ways I have discovered.
