Saturdays are lazy days,
No work
But there is the shopping
The washing
Reading and of course writing.
Clean the house, maybe
Cook for next week, maybe
Catch up with kids
Share a meal or two
A time to reflect
Make a decision
Act on a whim
Drink something forbidden
Eat out of the box
Sit and ponder
The universe
And beyond.
I hope yours is exciting
You get to do good stuff
Laugh,
Enjoy the company of friends
Do something for you
Relax over a meal
Write from your heart
It’s your time today.
Enjoy.

Ohhhhh what is forbidden to drink????
I was thinking of my diet, of letting go and having a drink just once, being carefree enough to let my guard down. It applies to any of us, it could also refer to behaviours you wouldn’t normally do. But if you wanted to be ‘naughty’ then why not, its Saturday, you have Sunday to get over it. Thank you Anja, good question.
Great way of spending Saturdays Michael! Nice poem.
Thank you Gabriella, enjoy what is left of your Saturday.
Hm, nice thoughts, I wish I was where that guy in the picture is. I do not like winter in Canada. Sometimes it’s nice to just do what you wouldn’t normaly do. I’m for that.
Maybe you could come to Australia one year and swelter in our heat and humidity…..but there’s a lot of beaches to sit on. Thanks so much Jackie.
Well the beaches would help cool down the heat, right? I’ll take beaches.
Ok there’s plenty of choice.
Now that is a nice Saturday. It’s Sunday afternoon now (not sure where my Saturday went), but oh man…that water looks so inviting! I’m watching the cricket with the aircon on. It’s way too hot to venture outside – 33C.
Same here. So where in Australia are you?
Penrith – at the foot of the beautiful Blue Mountains. And you?
Sounds good, what genre are you writing in?
If you get stuck, drop in for a cup of tea.
Maitland in the Hunter Valley. Last night came back from Canberra and past the signs to Penrith. I have been there a few times over the years. Small world isn’t it. I visited a blogger down in Canberra.
My editor and I are hoping to visit the Hunter at the end of January. We’re having a mentoring session for a few days at Newcastle, then hopefully visit a vineyard or two.
Ahh lazy Saturdays – though with me it’s more a Sunday. Ooer forbidden drink – – perhaps that may happen next week? 😉 Nothing is forbidden in my place 🙂 Hope you got to do ‘good stuff’ 🙂
Thanks Jenny, we shall see, shalt we. Your place sounds amazing, do you sell tickets?
erm no just rock up, I’m sure I can fit you in amongst the throng! 😉
I’ll have a small table in the front row so i get a good look at the floor show. Ok?
Yep, Saturdays are the best!!! Great reflection! 🙂 🙂
Thank you Helen. A week until the next one.
