I have in my yard a vast array of birds
some nest
some hunt
some attack at certain times of the year.
I am forever in wonder
the colour
the sounds
the chirping
the singing.
Right now I hear the choir
singing their own rendition
of evening song.
Come rest my love
upon this weary heart
soak in my love
I give it freely
that you may
regenerate
grow strong
smile and once again
love me.

My wish,
oh melancholy heart
calling to the one so dear:
weary of life
weakened by sorrow,
is that you may sing together
among the birds
that she may
learn again of love’s delight
through evening song
with you.
Your’s is an inspiringly beautiful poem.
Thank you Georgia, I have had a friend not having such a good time right now and this and the next few poems come from that experience. Thank you again for your lovely comment.
Know the song..those moments I know all too well, so I sympathize with you as I empathize, be well Michael my friend.
how this resonates….. and 6 simple words “I thank you my dear friend”
Thank you Jenny. My pleasure.
Simply…BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you RoSy, that is a beautiful comment in itself.

Hidden talents, mate, hidden talents.
Thank you good Sir, sometimes the words come gushing out, especially of late with some sadness around me.
love poems like love letters – a rare treat these days. very, very nice. sweet, thoughtful and tender moment. ☺
Thank you Sun, that is a lovely comment. There are a few more to come. Hope you enjoy those.
lovely 🙂
Holding you and your friend in my puny little prayers; but puny has, in the past, in our household, been enough. You mightn’t believe in all that stuff, but I’ll do it anyway you know! Keep writing. I walked! When I didn’t seem to be able to get any air into my lungs, I walked! Keep writing. Walking/writing, they’re the same. Kind regards Ann
Thanks Ann, not sure if you are on my side in this or not. All is not lost in this poem. Sometimes we need to be reminded that there is a love worth hanging around for, or am I being unrealistically romantic.
I believe to the nth power that we ‘think’ our healings into existence and love is the greatest medicine on earth.
Ahh so true my friend and that is all I can give my friend who is having a health issue.Thank you again, I want you to know I am grateful for what you have said.
There’s science behind what I’ve said. I always recommend Deepak Chopra’s Quantum Healing. It’s inspiring. Giving you a cyber hug right now! (Get it?) 🙂
Thanks Ann I should say I am grateful for your prayers in this matter. I think my first comment may have been a little off track. Thank you again, Michael
