Poem 5

13184445_s

when I leave

will I be missed?

will you even notice?

or am I just a person,

someone you once knew?

you cared, that I cared

knowing now you don’t

cruels me of all hope.

you searched me out.

my tracks you followed,

into my heart you crawled.

now

you ignore me, spurn me,

leaving me floundering

alone in no man’s land.

existing.

breathing.

living.

lost.

Awww this is bitter sweet. You are on a poem roll. I still do not know why some of your posts show in my feed and others do not. Hmmmmm mystery.

ST, don’t know if you meant to say “cures,” but I like the word that is there — “cruels.” Making this into a verb really gives it such tremendous power. And “cruels me of all hope” really stopped me in my tracks.

  5. Ouch – pain, pain, pain. Abandonment is so cruel, and a hard one from which to bounce back.
