At midnight a single light shone from an upstairs window.
The old man wrapped the only gift he gave each year.
The tree in the yard was festooned with the signal bauble.
At one minute past, he heard the tap.
Bowing he gave the gift to his caller.
The caller gave him another year.

Very interesting. What was the gift?
His soul, maybe 💜
That was one thought I had, merry Christmas willow, have a good one 🎅🏻🌲
Be blessed 💜💜🎉
Probably, but then he could give his soul just once, not again and again. Or maybe it was in installments, like home payments? 😛
Yes indeed that’s a thought💜
Lol, yes probably
😛👍😉
Perhaps his soul?
Hmm, every year!
Excellent, Happy Christmas and a healthy contented 2019 to you Michael 💜💜
A charming and special story Michael.
Oh, that is good in so many ways. 🙂 Hope you’ve had a good day.
Oh nice… Leaves ya wonderin’ for sure..
Intriguing, mysterious, and slightly creepy.
Love the mystery of this tale Michael. It feels sad and horrible at the same time. Well done. And a very merry Christmas and happy New Year to you and yours. 🙂
