Round
The satnav announced we were to turn right at the roundabout and take the third exit.
When we reached our destination, she turned and said: “See you round like a rissole.”
I asked her if she was sure she lived around here.
She replied she did and to come around anytime I needed company.
So, I turned my car around and headed home.
On the way, I stopped at the bakery and bought six round bread rolls as I was planning my lunches for the week ahead. I also bought six round slices of ham and carried them from the shop around the corner and into my car.
On the way out of the car park, I saw a hole on the road, it was round and deep, the car in front drove into it and disappeared into an abyss which must have been around sixty feet deep.
At last, I arrived home and unpacked my shopping. I settled down in front of the television and considered that in a roundabout way my day had been ok.

Ha haha. Good one Michael.
Thanks John, 🙂
🙂
By reading this I deduce that you have been around a bit *titters* Rissole … I haven’t heard of a Rissole since I was around the playground. You made me giggle Michael.😄
Always good to give you a giggle Ellen. A rissole is what we in Australia call a meat pattie.
When I was a girl it was a ball of meat mashed with potato and fried in batter. It was sold in chip shops our mother wouldn’t allow us to have them “working men’s food” she’d say, “you are neither a man nor working so the answer is No!” Hahaha the things you remember.
In many ways they are little balls of meatloaf the way I make them. I haven’t come across the mixture you mention
Maybe the memories are wobbly but that is as I recall, Googling now.
Here we go Michael do delete when you have read it I doubt you want a link on your page 😊 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rissole
Well there you go. Then again in Australia we do tend to have our own version of most things.
You certainly do 😂🤣
Oh dear you’ve noticed?
It seems that you have good-sized potholes in your roads. I am impressed. Maybe we should swap photos 😄
well much is happening in my mind. Thanks for stopping by.
This reminds me of a saying my husband used, “see ya round like a toilet seat” amusing the little kids a lot!😂
Thanks for your comment. Can I say, not knowing a name to address you by, that I appreciate all the positive and thoughtful comments you leave on my posts. I hope you have a good weekend whenever it comes your way.
