August 30: Flash Fiction Challenge – Stuck

working-template-for-ff-challenges

August 30, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about a bottleneck. You can be literal or use the term to describe congestion. Go where the prompt leads.

It was the weirdest feeling. The witch at Charli’s Wizard Emporium had insisted it was a great trick to play at parties. That night we had a go, and the effect was terrible. One minute we were standing in the middle of the room and the next we were stuck in the neck of the bottle. I’m sure we should have been in the body of the bottle we had become a bottleneck inside the bottle neck.

To passers-by we looked sight I’m sure, to us stuck there, it was panic stations as there was no back or forward.

  1. Reena Saxena says:

Enrol another witch to get you out 🙂

  2. Charli Mills says:

A creative nightmare that can work as an analogy for writing prompts, too! I like the Wizard Emporium…I have faith they’ll get through!

  3. That’s Witch’s Emporium sounds delightful. Liked that you got inside the bottleneck with this story.
