March 29, 2018, prompt: In 99 words (no more, no less) write a story about fingers that fly. Think about the different ways we use our fingers and what happens when we add speed. Go where the prompt leads.
As he aged, he found the only part of him that resembled flight were his fingers, and the advent of arthritis was threatening that.
It was the pleasure he derived from his morning sojourn into his blog and the generous fellow bloggers commenting on his humble writing and who allowed him to venture into their respective blog worlds.
He loved it when his fingers danced across the keyboard composing a response to the latest prompt that came his way.
His fingers were what kept him alive and wanting to be part of the wide and wonderful world of words.

So true for so many of us!
Sucks getting old Ritu, all this is ahead of a young woman such as you…I hope not…
My Pops suffered arthritic fingers… he had to retire from dentistry. My mum suffers mildly.. I’ve had problems with one finger already… but I shall not let it defeat me!
No don’t, I find krill oil helps mine.
I’ll look into it. Pops has really turned his around with yoga and alternative remedies. That is why he came out of retirement to teach yoga!
That’s impressive Ritu, he must be a positive and determined man.
He’s definitely that! He even has a daily slot on a UK Sikh tv channel every morning now as his passion shone to everyone! This is why he’s my Inspiration 🙏🏽
That’s wonderful. The world needs more men like him.
It does indeed. But I fear the mould was broken after… I don’t see that many selfless people out there. Did I say all the tv and the 4-5 classes he teaches are all part of his giving back to the community. No payment. A charitable act to spread the good he felt from taking up yoga!
Wow. Can he be found on you tube?
There is only an ad video for his slot on there… but if you look on my blog and search yoga pops there might be a link to a pressure point vidoe he made to help with knee pain!
Okay thanks Ritu
So far the fingers are still working. I wonder which will go first, my fingers or my mind.
Sometimes I think it’s a neck and neck contest
Michael you have probably written all of us. I even have the arthritis coming in the fingers. We have found glucosamine at double the recommended dose works for our shoulders and knees but then we have taken up yoga and have a monthly therapeutic massage. Not game to stop any of them.
I think what you find works then stick with it. Krill oil is helping me. You are the second person today to mention the benefits of yoga. I might have to look into it
I take Bio-Organics Krill Oil with Glucosamine and Fish Oil. It’s the only thing that keeps my knees from seizing up completely. Any more than a week off the capsules and I know it.
I never even heard of krill oil. Fascinating.
Another sweet post! And I have to second the krill oil and add my voice to the yoga chorus. This cold moist weather is killing my thumb joints.
Well I hope it warms up for you soon.
It has been showing some promise in terms of warmth coming our way, but it has been a gray, rainy, muddy mess here for a long time. Who’s a grouch? Not me! I agree with you that this community is a great gift that keeps me going.
Maybe our fingers are still nimble because we do so much typing, Michael. Too bad we can’t to that with our knees 😀 I’m told by reliable sources that this is the best exercise for arthritis 😀

Good to know there’s hope Lyn
Nice post Michael. Keyboards keep me going too.
I love your last line, Michael!
Thanks Charli, nothing like a bit of alliteration to end one’s 99 words.
Yikes. This is scary.
This was amazing. Such a nostalgic, yet hopeful tone.
P.S. I encourage everyone to use their bodies as much as they can, but when it gives out, there are speech to text programs that still allow writers to “write” without typing.
Yes handy to know. Thanks so much
Beautiful, straight from the heart tale. I dread the day when I will find myself unable to write.
It would be a sad world for many of us without our blogging friends. You’ve demonstrated that well in your flash.
yes we are enriched by having them.
Indeed we are!
Lovely Michael, I had a similar idea for this weeks prompt.
Thanks robbie.
