This week’s fun words: Spool Effusive (unduly demonstrative, lacking reserve, overflowing) Upset Gurgle Medulla (the marrow of the bones. the soft, marrow-like center of an organ, as the kidney or adrenal gland.) Poppet (a term of endearment for a young girl or child) Miasma (noxious exhalations from putrescent organic matter; poisonous effluviaor germs polluting the atmosphere. a dangerous, foreboding, or deathlike influence or atmosphere.) Notice Drowsy Facility Steal Supple
There wasn’t anything very endearing nor childlike about Poppet. In fact she was all things but that. Obviously a joke bestowed upon her by her mother an equally unpleasant woman.
But Poppet had a reputation one it was in your interests to take notice of. She was one of the most effusive women you would meet. She stood too close; therefore invading your personal space, which meant you were subject to the miasma of odours that oozed from her person strong enough to knock you over.
She liked nothing more than to upset whoever it was she accosted. In the middle of a conversation she would begin to emit a gurgle from her throat such that you weren’t sure if you were going to be her evening meal or not. The worrying thing of course was that it was commonly known she had a penchant for medulla and you couldn’t help but notice your arms and legs tightening around possible points of entry.
It wasn’t as if she asked, she was more than happy to steal from you whatever she needed. For a woman of her advancing years, she was no spring chicken I can say, she was amazingly supple having the ability to bent her body in the most unusual ways. Her favourite was the spool, where she contorted her body in such a way that the observer would soon become drowsy from the mesmerising effects her twisted body could have on you.
All this happened a fair while ago and now days Poppet lives in a closed facility, electric fences and cattle prods, where she spends her days twisted not only in body but also in mind. Her miasmic abilities have increased ten fold causing the authorities to keep her in an isolated section of the facility where breathing apparatus is the required norm. She is still very effusive and still in no way endearing.
