2016 April PAD Challenge: Day 16 – Vintage On Melbourne

For today’s prompt, write a poem about (or at) a food establishment.

My two youngest in tow

We lunched at Vintage on Melbourne.

What was once my local general store

Is now a café come restaurant

Serving superb food

In a beautifully relaxed atmosphere.

We decided to sit in the back garden.

The tone was old and comfortable

The tables set in under the rear of the shop

Sheltered beneath the upstairs veranda.

Our meals were excellent

My warm chicken salad delicious.

The salad with a delightful maple syrup

Added an unexpected but delectable

Taste to the roasted vegetables

Mixed generously through the salad.

We each had a different meal

We each enjoyed the choices we made

We each decided this was a place

We’d gladly eat at again.

  1. Maple syrup, roasted vegetables . . . you have recreated a perfect lunch time and made me extremely hungry. Hummmm. Always have maple syrup, too late for French toast, but do have some yogurt . . . . . .

Yum, the food sounds good. Great job on this poem!

  3. I’m glad you had a lovely lunch. Sounds beautiful too.
