SoCS Feb. 13/16 – tire

‘I’m tired because I tire easily,’ she said flopping down in the chair.

‘You’ve had a big day.’

‘I have and I’m really tired.’

‘Cleaning does that to you.’

‘Well today it did.’

‘Could be you made a greater effort than normal.’

‘What’s that supposed to mean? I always make a big effort.’

‘I’m not saying you didn’t but maybe you are tired because today you worked harder than normal.’

‘Well I doubt you could be any authority on that. After all you sat on your bum all day watching the cricket.’

‘But I was at the ready for when you asked for my help.’

‘It’s never worth the effort. Boy cleaning only irritates me and you clean like a boy and you and your cleaning irritate me.’

‘So rightfully I stand back, kept out of your way and ever ready to jump in and fetch lift or carry at a moments notice.’

‘Well if that’s the case where is my coffee?’

‘What coffee?’

‘I asked you to have a coffee ready for when I finished.’

‘So you’re finished?’

‘Coffee coming up.’

‘I can hardly wait.’

‘You sit down and rest your tired old bones I’ll get the coffee and be right with you.’

‘So how’s that? Good coffee?’

‘Yes thank you. So what are you doing now?’

‘Resting, I’m tired out after a long day.’

‘Oh my goodness are you for real?’

  1. LOL! Tired after sitting on his bum and watching cricket all day. 😀

  2. LindaGHill says:

Ha! Making coffee is SUCH hard work.

  3. Hmm! If he does all the cleaning, fetching and carrying, I wonder how tired he will be 😉

  4. I’d be all tired out if I spent a day sitting on my bum watching cricket. But then, I would have to pay super-hard attention. And paying attention is exhausting.
Coffee making can be exhausting. ;]

  5. Yes, this kind of scenario is repeated in every continent… 🙂
    It’s darned tiring watching cricket!

  6. My husband and I both do some of the housework and I am not into doing it very well. We both make a good cup of coffee though. 🙂

  7. My wife and I share the housework. I do what I’m good doing and she does what she is good doing. Seems to work.

  8. Lori Carlson says:

*laughs* great story, Michael… I remember those kinds of days all too well 😉
