I looked, inside and out
Yet I was told
You were here.
Puzzle.
You looked amused
You said
Faith,
That’s all you need.
Today’s poem I have to admit was influenced by a meditation I received this morning: They say that God is everywhere, and yet we always think of Him as somewhat of a recluse – Emily Dickenson

yeah, I believe he’s all around us; everywhere. I have my times where I am puzzled, frustrated, depressed – my faith is the reason I don’t stay in those moments of spiritual weakness for long.
Thanks Anthony and good for you I like that attitude very much.
I like what your meditation brought you…and that quote by Emily Dickenson.
Thank you so very much, some days the meditations do move me more than others.
I like the connection between the poem and the quote and the idea of an amused God sounds much better than an old bearded one.
I agree Gabriella thanks for reading and your comment.
just stop looking and start believing…sounds so simple…
Thank you Mark it does sound simple indeed.
Meditation opens doors and teaches; I do think that much has to believed on faith! I like the Dickinson quote.
Thank you Mary, often its all we have to work with.
Interesting piece. I think if you are looking for God, you must believe there is one. As for faith, well that can be in many things, not just God.
Yes exactly he doesn’t get all of it i think. Thanks Jackie.
faith makes all the difference
and goes well beyond what we see
when we are looking with earthly eyes.
Yes I agree brian, thanks for your comment.
Faith is all we need – I like this Michael ~
Thank you Grace happy you see it that way.
wonderful meditation on faith –
Thank you so much.
Amazing how close For is when we have the faith to realize he is HERE!
Yes Bryan thank you for your comment.
the things we cannot see with our eyes, we often can with our heart…
So true Claudia, that’s a very pertinent comment, thank you.
I don’t know why we think of God as being “out there somewhere” when the Psalmist assures us that, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1) 😀
Thanks Lyn good point you make.
and most of all he is inside ourselves.
Yes Bjorn, thanks for that excellent comment.
So much said in such few words.
Gotta have & keep the faith! 🙂
Thanks RoSy, it’s a good task this one, to say a lot in a few words.
faith is a miraculous power…
Thank you so much Sumana, it is indeed.
I like this poem…we need “eyes of faith” to see God smiling at us 🙂
Thanks lynndiane I appreciate your comment.
Nice …
Thank you Georgia.
Faith is an fickle friend…for it means seeing with none of our senses and that can be a tricky task. A lovely write.
Thank you rmp. Yes a tricky task indeed.
