Poem 127 – Jealousy – Part 2

Jealousy-1030888180

I watch you

Cross the room

I want what you have

The looks

The walk

The charisma.

I watch others look,

Whisper

Their looks of admiration

You are stopped

Conversation ensues

I watch as you engage

Laughter erupts

Handshakes

Kisses

Acknowledgement.

When I cross the room

I am invisible

Never stopped

Ignored

Why?

I dress as you

I copy your conversation

I try and think as you.

You wont stop me

I covet all that you are

My idol?

I think not.

More like my nemesis.

This is the second of my three poems exploring Jealousy.

ooh..I like this one too! Can’t wait to read #3

  2. Yikes this could end badly!!

  3. JackieP's avatar JackieP says:

If this is the same person, she is getting out of control! Almost afraid of what number 3 brings. Well done Michael

  4. RoSy's avatar RoSy says:

Jealousy is getting on my last nerve.
I say – let’s kick her to the curb. LOL

  5. Lyn's avatar Lyn says:

The moral to this is of course, “be yourself and don’t try to be someone else” she’s probably got more going for her than she thinks. People want to know the real her, not a counterfeit someone else 🙂

  6. Blogger's avatar mandy says:

This reminds me why I’m more comfortable not attending social events, lol!

  7. Trying to pretend to be another, for whatever reason is shallow in itself. One has to be themselves in this world, if others don’t like it… Well tough.

Just be ourselves… no good can come of trying to be someone else!

Great message Michael. This is my favorite of the three.
