I watch you
Cross the room
I want what you have
The looks
The walk
The charisma.
I watch others look,
Whisper
Their looks of admiration
You are stopped
Conversation ensues
I watch as you engage
Laughter erupts
Handshakes
Kisses
Acknowledgement.
When I cross the room
I am invisible
Never stopped
Ignored
Why?
I dress as you
I copy your conversation
I try and think as you.
You wont stop me
I covet all that you are
My idol?
I think not.
More like my nemesis.
This is the second of my three poems exploring Jealousy.
To read the first see this link:

ooh..I like this one too! Can’t wait to read #3
Thank you so much Pat, three will be up tomorrow.
Yikes this could end badly!!
Better come back tomorrow Justine, see what part three says. Thanks for reading.
oh yes i must seeee!
If this is the same person, she is getting out of control! Almost afraid of what number 3 brings. Well done Michael
Thanks Jackie, not sure its the same person, more the concept I am exploring, though after tomorrow’s you may think it is…..
Jealousy is getting on my last nerve.
I say – let’s kick her to the curb. LOL
Well you’ll have to come back tomorrow…..but that’s a good idea.
The moral to this is of course, “be yourself and don’t try to be someone else” she’s probably got more going for her than she thinks. People want to know the real her, not a counterfeit someone else 🙂
Exactly Lyn, that was my point. Thank you for reading and your comment.
This reminds me why I’m more comfortable not attending social events, lol!
Thanks Mandy I do understand. I’m with you on that score too.
Trying to pretend to be another, for whatever reason is shallow in itself. One has to be themselves in this world, if others don’t like it… Well tough.
Yes I agree Jenny. Thank you so much for reading and your thoughtful comment.

Just be ourselves… no good can come of trying to be someone else!
Great message Michael. This is my favorite of the three.
