Arriving on my doorstep,
A package wrapped in silence
Begging to be opened.
Words flowed forth.
Not just any meaningless words
But a language of love, of affection.
I take it into my arms
Allow it to wrap around me
Carry me into its nuances.
Mentions of long nights,
Moments of endless night
When dawn is a far off event.
I embrace the warmth it exudes
My mind wanders to places far off
Where time ceases to matter.
With hands locked in unity
I bath in the silence
Finding my solace.

Really, really nice Michael. If we could all get such a package we’d all be happy.
Thanks Jackie, yes we would wouldn’t we.
Wow. I like that. Each part creating the next and also confirming the last

Wow Michael exquisite writing, I love receiving packages too
Thank you so much good when they are a surprise as well.
It is indeed =)
How very beautiful and moving Michael, loved it and guess what buddy, this time,my poem also has some “packaging”-am waiting for my daughter to return from college-I love to read my writings to her and rarely post anything without that-so another half an hour and you can check it out for yourself-sadly it has none of the beauty of your poem 😛
Niice!
And – just the thought that you were thought of I’m sure puts a smile on your face.
I know it does for me. 🙂
Bigger than you might imagine.
Joy in the mail. I enjoyed. The image is beautiful too.
Thank you Kim appreciate you reading my work.
Very nice – intimate and perfectly enticing.
Thank you so much jay.
This is so very beautiful, and sinuous, weaving and wending through delight. Lovely.
Thank you so much Freya, I appreciate your comment.
And to think that in the future, there may be no more joy from letters or packages, it may all be virtual. Brrr, hope not! Bright, beautiful and delightful poem, really made my day!
Thank you so much Marina it would be sad if the mail system was no more. Make this poem redundant. Thanks again.
