D’verse – Looking Back – Looking Forward

My chosen style is  – Getting Tight in there – 55 word poem

knocking_at_the_door

my journey was long

moments of hesitation

doubt

it would be my pleasure you said

your door,

welcoming

I knocked

deep breath

relax

face to face

smile

embrace

laugh

talk

discovery

engaged with you

time flies when having fun

It’s late

do you have to go just yet?

unsure

come my love

stay

stay.

You could have included this in the Nerudan Odes prompt too … smiles … a form I have become very fond of since it only has one rule; short lines. I love the brevity of your style here; you say everything that needs to be said, but only what needs to be said.

Why use two hundred words when fifty-five will suffice. I doubt it could have been written any better without bordering on the verbose.
