Words are important,
Along with music
They make me whole
Together they act
As a conduit
Where one passes to the other
Each awakens within me
My creativity
My self reflection.
Words flow to rhythms
Magically appearing in my mind
Each in synch,
Each stimulating the other
Making me whole
Awakening me.

It is nice to be woken to music, to read a piece that makes your heart soar, to awaken your senses. Is this what you drew Michael? How wonderful that you are putting your artists mind to work along with your words. Whose a clever lad then π
Well yes, says he, with a sense of trepidation…glad you liked the words……clever? You think?
I think anyone who puts up a ‘drawing’ combined with prose is cleverβ¦.don’t you? π
Yes I think there are some wonderful artists out there using their work to enhance their writing….
So happy you posted your art π See….told you it can be done. I almost always have music on when writing or drawing. π
Thank you Anja……well the music’s playing here as well…..
I tend to (have to) write with a completely different kind of music in the background – the sound of people talking, trains rumbling over tracks, station ammouncements… Yes, I do much of my writing on the train to and from work because of my crazy work schedule.
A lovely poem!
Thanks Freya, that’s a lovely comment. We work in different environments, I find music in the background is good for me, classical if I have to mark large numbers of essays…that’s the only time that works for me!
I studied for my law degree finals to the sound of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana!
I totally get this! π
Thank you RoSy, I am happy that you do.
I really connect with this piece. I am so passionate about words. They are spoken music “flowing to rhythms”, yes I feel that with every sentence.
Thank you gimpet, an insightful comment.
