Saturday Mix – Double Take, 25 November 2017

Our first homophone set this week is:

bolder – more courageous
boulder – large rock

Our second set of homophones is:

flew – past tense of fly
flu – short for influenza
flue – chimney pipe

The McScrooge’s hated the idea of Christmas. It was in their DNA and they could do little each year but block up the flue with a boulder and wait out the Christmas period praying as it flew by that the flu-like illness they felt from the festivities around them would abate enough for them to remove the boulder once the period of good will to all men had passed. Feeling bolder they packed their bags and boarded a plane that flew them to cooler climes.
