Same Same But Different
Your ‘Same Same But Different’ task is to take the five challenge words and NOT use them in your writing. That’s right, you need to dig out your thesaurus and find a synonym for each word instead.
Your words are:
- odd
- fight
- start
- weak
- tired
It was a most peculiar day, surrounded by the strangest of people.
At first, I was fearful of some confrontation, as there was a rumour of a past brawl,
But from the beginning, a peace pervaded the room and the whole evening kicked off satisfactorily.
A feeble attempt was made to reconcile but was met with an even more puny response
So, in the end, fatigued by the whole trauma of the meeting we were all too exhausted to be bothered.
So, home we went, glad to be rid of such eccentric types
Thankful all and any struggle of a physical nature had been avoided.
A new week was about to commence, we were glad of that,
Our ailing need to compensate put momentarily behind us
Not wishing to burn ourselves out, we buried ourselves in work.

Excellent choice of synonyms in your story.
Thanks good sir
Another great post Michael.
Thanks Di, thank goodness for the thesaurus close at hand.
We need to get one and another dictionary for our scrabble games! Looking forward to the wordle tomorrow!
I use the dictionary thesaurus that comes with the computer. Times zones are always fun aren’t they, your tomorrow is my today.
I get confused with Bro in NZ. He’s 12 hours ahead I think, he is waking up tomorrow as we retire tonight. When I worked for the American Bank, the US were behind us by 5 hours, yet the offices I reported the figures for were an hour ahead of me!
My NZ brother has been over visiting. NZ is 2 hours ahead of us. It’s just on 7.30am here Monday

I like the way your prose tells the story!
Thanks so much
