Write a story or poem of 5 Lines or Less using the word counterfeit
The shovel slipped into the earth and stopped when it reached pay dirt.
Unearthed was a treasure chest, gold inlays deceiving us of its authenticity.
Opening it we couldn’t believe our eyes.
The glitter and gold mesmerised us.
Then my friend pointed out the counterfeit gold wrapping, it was all a box of chocolates.

Think I’ll give those chocolates a miss. You never know how long they’ve been buried 🙂 Remember the mesh bags of gold covered chocolate coins the kids love to get at Christmas time? Problem with them is they were made of compound chocolate — ugh!
I do recall them and now I understand why they were so awful to eat…
What is it that they say? Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know which one you’ll get. I guess it’s the same with buried treasure chests.
Yes I think so, hope you are having a good day/evening.
Chocolate would make me happy. 😊
Only if it was the best Kat….what if it was a treasure chest of cooking chocolate??
Chocolate is a treasure! Not sure about when it’s been buried, though. Thanks for sharing your fun lines.
Now, I want to know the rest of this story! I like this story, though. It makes you think.
