She looked at him with an element of surprise.
“There’s more to you than meets the eye,” she said looking him up and down, “I thought you were nothing more than a two-dimensional card-board cut out. But you’re not are you?”
“Well they say to be cautious around the quiet ones,” he said staring into her eyes. There was no doubt he found her the most captivating of women.
“You stood up to those thugs when I thought we were going to really cop it. How did you do that?”
“I just did that’s all. Bullies infuriate me. I decided you were worth all the effort to protect you from them.”
“That’s all so valiant.”
“I’m glad I did. I wanted you to see there was some substance to me. I’m not just a telling of bad jokes and a maker of lame conversation.”
“Well the jokes and the conversation we can work on. What else is there about you I should know?”
“Well I’d like to think that what you see is what you get.”
“No don’t be so modest. You can do things can’t you. There were six of those guys, you reduced them to a pile of blubber.”
“Just a skill I have. I don’t want that to dictate our relationship.”
“You’re different I can see that. What exactly was it you did to them?”
At this point he said nothing but took her hand and through her arm she felt a warming rush of energy. It took her aback, she pulled away, suddenly frightened by what she was feeling.
“What was that?” she asked. As she asked the question his face glowed and around him an aura appeared into which she found herself gravitating towards. Inside his aura, she felt his warmth spread all through her, it heightened her senses, her body craved more and more.
Then suddenly it was gone and she was standing in front of him.
“That’s what I can do to someone I like. What you saw earlier was what I can do to anyone I dislike,” he said as a way of explanation.
She took a deep breath before deciding what to do next.
