Today’s #maydays prompt features the word “Path”.
The path to Nowhere was a rugged one
All down hill with so many obstacles
Treacherous declines, rocky outcrops
Times when danger loomed large
Life and death events.
Though when you reach Nowhere
It is in fact Somewhere.
All around the horizon
As far as the eye can see
Is evidence of life.
Far to my right was the city
Thriving in his magnificence
Sucking life and giving back
In its own unique way.
To my left is and a vast wasteland
The place lost souls inhabit
Seeking and craving love.
They wander aimlessly
Forever lost in Nowhere
Never realising they are Somewhere.

this is a fascinating play with these ideas – somewhere and nowhere – and always searching, seeking, ….. the tone is set well – there is something about this …. rather …. quietly haunting
Yes the whole concept of Nowhere being Somewhere gets you thinking even if it is in a disturbing way.
sometimes “disturbing” is exactly what is needed
I appreciate this viewpoint. “No where” is still “Somewhere” and that’s vital. Sometimes you don’t realize you’ve ended up somewhere good, maybe even where you belong. You call it nowhere but in reality, it’s somewhere good if you choose to see it that way. Well done Michael. It’s a neat perspective on paths.
Thank you Mandi…gets you thinking doesn’t it..
Yes most definitely.
