When Cousin Daisy was given a chemistry set at age six her parents knew thought much would come of it.
But Daisy loved to play with the chemicals mixing this with that and seeing what might happen.
When she was sixteen and had moved on to advanced Chemistry for Aspiring Chemists, she received a package of very advanced chemicals. So advanced, some came in lead lined containers with a large skull and crossbones on the cover.
No one really knows what happened but its likely Daisy did what she always did. Mixed this with that and saw what happened. There was a commotion as my aunt described it and when they ran to see Daisy had been reduced to her bare bones.
She became a fixture in her parents home. My uncle would place his hat on her head; my aunt hung her tea towels from her arm just to prove Daisy was still useful.

Hahahaha! This is hilarious! She blew herself up and her skeleton is now being used as a hat rack and towel rack! Horror comedy! Hahaha! Love it!
Thank you Joy, glad to give you a laugh.
Yes! It made me laugh out loud!
A useful memento. 😀
Thank you.
Brilliant. So few scientists admit that they found something by accident lol or they became bones and others spoke for them.
Thank you so much glad you enjoyed my take….have a good day…
You too!
Lol poor Daisy, she certainly got down to the bare bones of it 🙂
Hence the expression, I have a bone to pick with you….lol..thanks for stopping by Juls…
Lol seems like with Daisy you’d be spoiled for choice!
Well yes wherever the whim took you….have a good day…
Poor Daisy did chemistry that was a bit to advanced for her. It’s nice the family still incorporates her into their daily life though. Great sense of humor as always Michael and great writing!
Thank you Mandi, have a great day….
Oh no, poor Daisy. She should have paid attention to that skull and crossbones. 🙂
Yes indeed Deborah….hope you are having a good day….
Thank You, Michael. I am having a good day trying to stay dry from El Nino. 🙂
Well, not many of us can say that once reduced to bones we are still useful! (Of course, who would hear us say such things?)
A smiler all the way through.
Thank you, when you look at it reduced to bare bones does reduce your usefulness so I’m glad daisy stayed a useful member of her family……wasn’t it Robin Williams in Parch Adams who suggested that when he die he be buried with his arse sticking out of the ground so he could be used as a bike rack??
It sounds like something Robin Williams would say in one of his films. Think it’s Patch not Parch Adams — just to let you know. I’m not critiquing your typing!
ha! delightful tale, Michael! I loved playing with chemistry sets as a child too.. almost blew up the chem lab in high school 😀
Just think Lori you too may have been another daisy….
*laughs* I nearly was! thank goodness for fire extinguishers!
XD
I rather be alive than useful in that way.
Great story.
Thank you so much good to see you stop by…
Ah Michael, what a great story!! you have the talent to turn the most outrageous stories into something funny. Happy New Year!
Thank you Oliana, you are so kind. Have a good day.
Thank you.
Wow! A teenager that never breaks curfew… Boy, were they lucky!
