Kowange festival

Bang went the drums
Streamers flying
Costumes a riot of colour
Dancing their way
Up a street lined with supporters
Soaking up the atmosphere
The infectious energy
Of a hundred and more
Celebrating internationality
The rejoicing in a world of diversity
Today a sea of love and delight.
How lucky to be taken there
Eyes wide, mouth agape
Such fun
A great day had by all.

  4. I was so wanting a photo! Grrr 😉 sounds exciting, thank you for sharing your new experience, enjoy your holiday my friend.

  5. I’m not familiar with this festival, Michael–but what a great opportunity to celebrate oneness. The sermon I heard this weekend was on that very subject. Great serendipity.

Love festivals! Did they have lots of international foods as well? Love tasting foods from different countries. The last festival I went to was in Penrith and they had people dressed as butterflies walking on six-foot stilts, which meant they towered about five feet over people. Beautiful!

I do love a parade! And you’ve expressed that joy perfectly — that perfect moment where we are all suddenly one!
