In the bottom of my garden just now
There is a cluster of dandelions,
All standing tall dancing in the breeze.
I have watched them wondering
If I could be game, to pluck just one
Blow and send its seeds off into the wind.
For I have heard the tales, the myths, the dreams
Of wishing upon a breath, as they float away
To who knows where, who knows when?
I ask myself when I stand among them
Has my day passed, my time long gone
Will wishing be a foolish gesture?
For love has long gone, my time passed
I am alone and fate has conspired against me
Destitute and desolate I ponder my no future.
Be brave she had said, take a risk,
Follow your heart, what have you to lose
I pluck one head, hold it to my lips.
A single breathe and away they go
Drifting on the air, rising away from me
My wish I make, I close my eyes, I hope.
I hear my phone, I run inside
Its her, she has called, I am stunned
Yes of course, of course, tonight? At eight?
She has missed me, regrets past wrong
Wants to meet, patch us up, start again.
I smile, just as my heart, skips a beat.

You’ve taken on me a very emotional journey. There is a beauty and a vulnerability in this that I can really connect to. Beautifully done Michael =)
Thank you so much Yves, I appreciate your comment as always.
Time seems to pass us by in love, but what is life without hope and wishes. This is beautiful Michael, I hope all your wishes come true.
So do I if I can find enough dandelions. Thank you Jenny for your comment.
I don’t think you need dandelions, you are welcome.
Well I feel better then.
I agree with Jenny – no need for dandelions, though this was, beautifully written and something I think we can all relate to at some stage in our lives.

Thank you Lou. Have a good weekend.
Ditto!
I stepped into a little magic reading this, Michael! 😀
Hi Linda thanks for reading, magic indeed dear friend.
Such sadness in the beginning, then a ray of hope that floats with a dandelion wisp. Then happiness. You took us on a road trip of emotions Michael. Well done!
Thank you Jackie, thanks for taking the journey.
Just curious, is she the only one with past regrets? What about him?
I think they both have regrets Larry. But a ray of hope appears and they grasp it. Thanks for your comment.
I still do & probably always will make dandelion wishes. 🙂
{Hugs}
Well so long as a few come true keep puffing. Thanks RoSy.
😀
Ah…so nice! Like how the tale spins to a happy ending!
Thank you Georgia, fairy tales should have some hope within them.
I think so too! 🙂
Be careful what you wish for… I hope all goes well. Great post! Cheers, Brenda
Thanks Brenda, wishes can come true so care goes hand in hand.
Wishes often come true, and dreams, too. 🙂
I hope so Brenda, for all of us.
A lovely fairytale. I hope it has a happy ending for you.
Thanks Suzanne so do I.
