All in a Word – Bastet’s Sunday Prompts – Sunday Lunch

1897022_619037764832017_616140379_n

Sunday lunch,

Visitors.

A morning of prep

Cooking, cleaning

Washing up

Orders barked

Abuse delivered

Humiliation a plenty.

Keep stirring

Caramel sauce

How I hate it.

Not the purple tablecloth

What were you thinking?

Its not ironed anyway.

No thought for others

Impression the name of the game.

Cost?

Immaterial.

Dollars? What it takes.

Emotions? Who cares?

Wounds festering

Resentment abounding

Job done.

Knock knock

Happy families.

Now who’ll say grace?

  1. Another visit to the happy household? Hmm I freak out like that too at times. Felt the tension in this.

If that’s happy families, I’d hate to see unhappy. Whew, not a good place to be. You wrote it well though Michael.

  6. RoSy's avatar RoSy says:

Gosh – So glad that all I have to basically do is show up. LOL

  7. Well worth the fuss. Nice string of words.
