Poem 54

Deadlock

You say you wont,

I say I can’t.

We stare across a table

Mediators on either side

A compromise would satisfy.

Your hardhearted attitude

Intractable in times of emotional strain

Vindictive in nature

You seek ways to inflict pain

Ways to satisfy your burning desire to crush.

After so long many battles

I stand my ground

I have been beaten once to often

It is my turn now

To watch you squirm

As I turn the screws.

Hmmmm very interesting! Can sense some anger here.

  2. Gabriella's avatar Gabriella says:

Ouch! This is not as romantic as the previous one. Something went sour here obviously.

  3. Vindictiveness such a wasteful emotion – these words bite Michael and pain is evident in your words. Nice write – onward and upward my friend {hugs}

I shouldn’t click the like here as this fury hits too close to home. It’s disturbing the games people play and call it love…in the end though I think that I will just try to move on. Thanks for this poem.

  5. This is intense and you definitely get the idea that both parties have dug in their heels. Great job Michael!

  6. Cool! I can relate a lot of this to stuff at my work, LOL!! 🙂 🙂

  7. RoSy's avatar RoSy says:

The black heart goes so well with the words in the poem.
