Last of summer’s haze bathes the streets in light
Scintillating gold upon the worn stone
It’s only me under the stars tonight
I traverse these shadowy roads alone
Alas the sun rests on the ebbing tide
Illuminating what my heart has known
Moments when my whole self simply cried
When days stretched interminably away
I wondered would it matter if I died.
But serving and protecting is my way
Through clouds of inexplicable fear
I struggle, battle to survive the day
Belief my destiny will be made clear
Out of love for those I hold most dear

This is a collaboration between myself and Michael. Yes shocking for the girl who HATES rules…..
He was working on a terza rima sonnet, so I threw out some lines and somehow we got here. ๐ Hope you enjoy……
Very beautiful, a seamless collaboration where the voices truly sing the same song! ๐ ๐
