I sense it as I sip.
My lips brush past it.
The most sinister of beasts.
Itβs watching.
Its claws at the ready
Momentarily I pause.
Its there, below, among the leaves.

Ha – very nice subtle reference. π
Thank you Christine, I appreciate you reading my work.
This is really creepy. You did a fantastic job at creating a menacing atmosphere. π
Thank you Cubby, I like this length of piece, makes me think, but not too hard…
I definitely see the grim!
Thanks, Brenda, good that you do…thanks for reading.
Cool -the beast in the beverage!! π π

that I did π
Oh I love it. It’s there waiting for us everyday! Oh deliciously ominous, Summers!
Thanks Linda, you have to keep your eye out all the time.
I love this! Well done. I had to read it through three times because the words griped me.
Hello Grace, thank you for reading my piece, happy that it impacted on you. Please call again.

Oh it could be divination… it’s the Grim
Thanks bjorn, it just could be.
A foreshadowing perhaps?
Nice take on the prompt – with the image in the cup!

Brewing in the morning-what a beast!Loved the scary dip in this steamy cup from you:-)
Hello and welcome to my blog, thank you for that comment.
:-)Thanks for the welcome-hopefully you will enter Trifecta this week and further so that I get to read your work and maybe know you too, Summer:-)
Thanks and you are most welcome. Hope to see you again. I don’t always do the Trifecta but this one was one I couldn’t resist.
Oh I see-am a regular and usually try to read and comment on all pieces:-)
I write on a number of challenges but if the challenge doesn’t interest me i do not do it. Do you try the Haibun challenge?
That’s a mark of a true writer-I have only started writing in English(not my native language)since last Dec ,so I am still practicing, lol! I did start writing Haiku very recently-don’t think can handle anymore just now-my friend Pirate did tell me about it but it seems too tough for me:P
You have to pick and choose. There is a good one called Friday Fictioneers, 100 words you might like to manage. But you will improve your English with practice and by doing only what you can manage
True:-)Yes I have heard about FF & seen a few on my blog feed but my problem is not about writing so much but about reading, commenting and responding too-just seem to have that kind of time and I feel very guilty if someone is kind enough to read and comment& I fail to return the favour-so am limiting myself -at the moment-thks for the help:-)
It is wise to do only what you can manage.it is easy to try too much.
Exactly!
This is creepily awesome! Well done!
Thank you Ivy, lovely to see you visit.
