It was as a huge crisis within the crab industry. The crabs were dying, dropping like flies and the culprit was climate change.
For years the water temperature within the lake had been rising making it impossible for many species to survive.
Already large numbers of fish had washed up on shores around the lake.
Now the heartbreaking discovery of the dead crabs. The local restaurants prided themselves on their crab cuisine. There had been a rush to find as many alive and establish climate-controlled breeding ponds in an effort to save the economy. We hoped this might save us.

I hope it never comes to this.
Scary thought isn’t it.
Totally!
Sad, and a potential reality.
Hopefully not too soon.
I agree with previous comments Michael. This is so close to reality.
Scary isn’t it.
Oh yeah.
All too real!!! Climate change is not going away anytime soon — though change is always inevitable, climate change and our contribution to it is indisputable. Thank you for adding a dose of current events to your 100 Word Wednesday Story 🖤
