I couldn’t believe it, but it was true.
The grass was greener on the other side.
I glanced back at where I had come from
The twisted path I had trodden to this point
The precarious and treacherous decisions taken
And here I stood looking at a future
One that was potentially bright, clean,
Pain-free and it was there within arm’s reach.
At this point in my dream, I became aware
It was a dream I was having,
My life awaited me when I woke up
But I wanted to explore a little more
But as is the case the dream had its own censorship
And I found myself awake
Reality flooded over me
As the darkness consumed me
Once again I was left wondering
If my beginning was near.

Michael, I like what you did with this picture prompt.
Hi Susan thanks so much, its funny what comes to mind when you look at Helene’s images. Always great to explore.
I love this dream. I also love the reality that the beginning might be near, from the darkness it has to be coming into sight.
Thanks Helene great image to write too
Very good take on the prompt. It sometimes intrigues us the vision in our dreams.
Indeed, they are often puzzling aren’t they.
They are.
A case of How green my valley would be if I hadn’t done the things I did.?
Yes I think we all fit into that category.
Love your last line Michael.
Thanks Di.
Written from the heart I imagine.
Of course…
Excellent take on a great photo prompt Michael 🙂
