Patch loved the autumn for one simple reason.
He could lay in the fallen leaves unseen as the postman approached. Not that he had anything against the postman rather it was a case of being able to hide, which he loved to do, and scaring the postman, which he also liked to do.
So here he was, hidden amongst the leaves as the postman approached. At the last minute, he’d pounce, jumping up at the postman as he rode by. Today the postman stopped reached over and patted the head of the wagging tailed dog. They were great mates nowadays.

Could well be Maggie………… she mugs our postie as he;s always got biscuits in his pockets.
At least nowadays most people have their dogs fenced in.
We put a post box outside our gate so our postie doesn’t have to come in to deliver our mail. Thing is, Maggie will see the uniform and make a beeline for it, our postie or not! Luckily she’s usually on a lead.
