In Other Words, happenstance…

Write a story or poem of 5 Lines or Less using the word happenstance

It was pure happenstance that I arrived at the finishing post just as the escaped bull burst onto the tracks.

We stared at each other, both frozen to the spot.

The bull pawed the ground, I thought of the nearest escape.

As it moved so did I, the crowd by now in a frenzy of excitement.

The bull puzzled by the noise stopped and tried to eat, unsuccessfully, the artificial turf, much to its continued displeasure.

I hope you had enough energy left to move faster than the bull. Funny lines this week, Michael. Thanks for sharing.
