
Recently I have been working on Family Tree and I took the above photo of my Grandfather grave stone. He died, in 1950, before I was born but he fought in WW1, was injured like so many, lost an eye and wore a glass eye. He came to Australia from Scotland in 1900, worked in saw mills before going to war. After the war he married my grandmother and for a time lived in the house I now live in. The Nancy mentioned on his gravestone is my mother.
I love the idea of family trees, writing family histories. They truly keep alive a family’s roots and knowing a bit about how we ended up where we are. Very touching seeing your mother’s name on that tombstone, I’m sure.
