Write a story or poem of 5 Lines or Less using the word autumn
We are standing knee deep in the leaves from the Liquid Amber.
Over the weekend the autumn winds blew them every which way.
It’s a pretty sight to everyone but the cleaner whose heart sags surveying the scene.
It takes him weeks to rake them up and dispose of them.
With every breeze, he understands why Sisyphus was so frustrated.

Well done and clever. I like the last line and the tie-in to Sisyphus.
Thanks so much.
I’m with the cleaner. Also, autumn makes me more melancholy than usual.
Well that explains a lot doesn’t it…chin up my dear, things could always be worse….
Well, the falling leaves will not go on forever but only until the snow falls. Of course, then there is the shoveling to be done. We are happiest when we see the beauty and learn to enjoy the work that comes with it. But I must add that I am glad that I don’t have to do the cleaner’s chores. Thanks for sharing your story with In Other Words.
My pleasure Patricia, look forward to next week.
