100 Word Wednesday: Week 23 – Pearl’s Diner

The Diner was a place you’d go to see the shadiest of characters. They’d all be there huddled around tables, sipping coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

Pearl ran the diner with an iron fist. One look from her and you shook in your pants, some were even known to wet them.

Pearl’s food was second to none. Whatever you ordered was top notch.

Many a heist and con was organised at Pearl’s. If you did such a crime Pearl expected a cut of the take as she argued if you used her premises to plan, she was due as well.

Smart woman. Very little risk on her part but she gets a cut of a the profits. But, if something goes wrong, she just says I had no idea.

Loving the twist at the end: not only did Pearl have shadowy characters who understood she ran the place with an iron fist, but she was quick to get her cut in the dealings…shrewd businessman she is! Thank you so much for joining us again this week 🙂
