When they found you
It was with initial relief
Missing all those days
No word, no sightings
Hours spent wondering where and why,
What if they came back with…
But then they saw you
In the thickest bush,
Scratched, more damaged than ever.
You uttered not a sound
Just stood there
The wind swirling around you
Blowing your dress in billows
You didn’t care did you?
The rescuers stared at you
Puzzled how you could be still alive
Despite the cold and rain,
There you were
A girl with a story
A life ripped apart
A girl with a history
Dare we ask for details
A girl with no face
Identity stolen, just a body.

Ooh, chilling – we seem to have been on the same wavelength this morning – I posted my poem before I read yours.
Must be great minds Kim….thanks for your comment, I’ll go off and read yours.
Oh Wowza, painfully good, Michael.
Thank you Stella.
Wecome.
Painful to read…but well done, Michael!
Thank you so much..
Gripping but real 🙂
Thank you Pat, its interesting that this one has raised a few questions which I think is a good thing…
questioning is always a good thing – unless you’re really wiped – then maybe not so much … but then, there is always later 🙂
