There were tears in your eyes
Spilling down your face as you
Were told of the enormity of the problem.
Your love, the one you nurtured
Was unwell and you knew
It was time to say farewell.
You have always impressed me
With your courage and compassion
The love you exhibit
For those close to you.
Your ability to touch the lives
Of so many both spiritually and physically.
Now you are suffering
Through no fault of your own
A quirk of fate, a trick of genetics.
You held and consoled her until the last minutes
Holding her to your chest
Nursing her in this distressful time
Your own heart breaking,
You knew it was time to let her go.
What moved me was the beauty of the dignity
You transferred to her,
Allowing her to feel so loved.
I shed tears of my own
Knowing I am lucky
To a part of your day.

This touched my heart more than you can imagine, Michael.
Thank you Lyn, glad it hit a chord with you…
What incredible sensitivity expressed in this piece Michael. You are a treasure.
Thank you Pat, sometimes this is where I am at.

Really well written. “The beauty of her dignity.” A refreshing way to see beauty, even though it is heartbreaking for her to lose a child.
Thanks Mandi, though it was not a child she lost…..I thought I should point that out…
Who did she lose?
Its a reflection on a good friend who lost her mother recently.
