The quote to inspire you today is:
“Everything you can imagine is real” — Pablo Picasso
She surveys her room
A single bed, a night stand
A makeshift rack
From which hangs her life.
In this space she lives out her dreams
A life free from the burden
Of the same old shit
Just a different day.
Once she had ideas
To travel, explore:
But they held her back
Scoffed at her grandiose plans.
Babies, assaults, beatings
Intimidations that frightened her
She cowered to their demands
Forgot her dreams and just survived.
One day a man unlike others
Extended a hand and lifted her up
Said no dream is impossible
Just let it gel, it can come true.
Today she lies in her single bed
With visions of living a life
Flooding her mind once again
She is alive, she sees freedom.

Wow, Michael–your poems really draw the reader into not only the scene, but the world of the subject.
Thanks Dell, some stories are worth telling, as for some hope for change is something they never thought possible.
It’s true. I have faith for some things, and none for others–but maybe that’s how God likes it, so He can surprise me!!
Well that’s one way of looking at it for as you know we never know what is around the corner.
It’s always amazing.
Every day dawns full of possibilities
Yes Sir.

Wonderful poem, Michael. I’m glad she had someone there to offer her a helping hand and give her a chance to dream again. 🙂
Thank you Louise, she is indeed a remarkable person.
To dream of possibilities that become reality is a wonderful story. I hope her single bed becomes a double one.
