FFfAW Week of 06/03/2015 – School Excursion

On the annual school excursion it was customary to spend one day at the beach.

My students lived in a remote country town and for many this trip was their only opportunity to see what lay beyond the town limits. Most lived on family farms, which once they were old enough would become theirs.

Today the boys were super excited and were looking forward to walking on the sand and then later to roll up their pants and wade in the eddies that caressed the shoreline.

It was a beautiful time to watch them run in and out of the water, daring each other to go in further only to emerge with pants wet to their waists but with the biggest of smiles on their faces.

I always wanted them to have experiences they hadn’t had before, leave them with memories that would stay with them for life.

“I always wanted them to have experiences they hadn’t had before, leave them with memories that would stay with them for life.” Sign of a teacher who is involved, cares, and educates.
