Finish the story that begins with:
“Dance as if no one is watching,” she called. “It’s your last chance.”
I knew what she meant. The meteor was getting closer and impact was expected any day.
I looked across the room and saw Will in his usual drag going for it, a combination of modern contemporary and enthusiasm.
I decided to let my head go, feeling my arms and legs free themselves from their usual conservative inhibition.
Will was my favourite extrovert, purple was his colour and he was flaunting it as always.
Tonight he was dancing on a giant keg, wishing I am sure that he was to be given the responsibility of emptying it.
We strutted our stuff till the wee small hours only stopping when exhaustion overcame us and reality snuck back in again.
Holding hands we pranced down the High Street one last time.

Excellent! Thank you for your contribution to Mondays Finish the Story! Stay tuned for next week’s challenge, and be well! ^..^
Thanks Barb, excellent prompt to write to. Have a good day.
Now I would like to see you ‘prance’ down High street. LOL That was a good story Michael.
I can step out I can tell you. Thanks Jackie.
Nice to see you back, Michael! I liked the sense of freedom in this piece despite, or maybe because of, the imminent destruction.
Thanks Gabriella I had a wonderful holiday in Japan. Thanks again for reading.
A carefree romp, with the impending doom. I can picture you skipping down the road hand in hand with Will- lovely story Michael
Thank you Jenny I think I can too.
…modern contemporary and enthusiasm… This creates a nice image. Well done!
Thank you for reading my words. Glad you could smile at that image. Have a good day.
Great take on the prompt, Michael. A purple dandy and a meteor…brilliant 🙂 I haven’t been able to think of anything yet.
Thanks Lyn. Your creative mind will produce an excellent piece before you know it.
