Igor loved his job. He took great satisfaction in welcoming his guests; feeding them and seeing them leave his establishment sated from his hospitality.
Tonight the Baron was attending and he was particularly excited about the visit.
Good evening Excellency welcome.
I trust you had an uneventful trip?
The roads can be treacherous this time of year.
The rain makes them very tricky.
I see Your Excellency is staying the night.
Very good. I am sure your stay will be very relaxing.
We have been looking forward to your visit Excellency.
Chef has prepared one of his specialties for the evening.
Yes sir all served on our best sliver platters, as usual.
Tonight Excellency we have a rare wine from the Tellace Estate, a very special red Sir.
And fine company tonight Excellency, you’ll find them delightful.
The dinner Sir, will be along shortly.

No matter how old I get, when I hear the name Igor I want to use a horrible eastern European accent and run around like a fool…..did I say too much? lol
I was so tempted to write…..’good evening Excellency velcome.’
But I decided to let you use your imagination.
Are you a teacher of primary students?
Don’t worry my imagination already carried me there. 🙂
I teach 5 and 6 year old children. So guess my crazy imagination helps me with my job. haha
We call that age infants. I teach high school 12 – 18 yr olds. Being crazy sure helps in our job.
I can’t reply to your reply so…..will just comment again. Initially I went to school to teach high school but I ended up with the little ones. I have learned they have a lot in common. With the little ones I feel like I am constantly on stage to keep their focus. Reading to them takes a lot of energy but I love it. Now after I read I always have one girl that reminds me to take a bow. 🙂 They get all my accents (although really they tend to blend and make no sense).
Being a performer you will make a great teacher, taking your bow after each lesson, you will always be a winner.
Life is a stage…..right? I have several special needs children as well so I have to improvise a lot. I really love it although I am in the middle of going back to school to switch careers.

Good for you that you are wanting to switch careers. I am about to finsh mine.
I think WordPress does not like me today. Yes change. Was considering speech pathology but now looking at art therapy. With our current economic issues here, being an educator and single mom is tough. Plus I need a break. What will you being doing next?
I will work a few days here and there and not worry about the paperwork that seems to be multiplying year after year. I sympathise with your situation. Good luck I think art therapy a very worthwhile occupation.
Oh paperbark. I wish that would end now. 🙂
Okay now to take on the kids shortly. Have a wonderful day.
Ha paperwork. Silly phone
Good night from way down under. Don’t forget your bows today.
🙂 sweet dreams and I will not forget.
That is an interesting tale, narrated in simple words, which only adds into its attention-grabbing quality. It makes me wonder of all the food that will be presented. I love food and that may well be the reason that it was like a scene from a movie for me.
Have a good day(night). 🙂
Good morning, HA, thanks for your comment. I wonder which movie you may be suggesting?
Is Igor the sheep? 😉 (couldn’t help myself)
I could reply in some rude manner to this RM, but I shalt other than to suggest you re read this piece of literaryness to further soak up the subtle nuances of my language.
got ‘ya mate, I was theatrically pulling your leg 🙂
I know. I couldn’t resist my reply…lol
LOL the name Igor conjures up this little fat guy rolling his hands and saying, “Yes, Maaaster, heee heee. All is ready Maaaster” and yes, like Anja says…with a terrible Eastern European accent. I hope his Excellency likes fluffy lamb 😀
Thanks Lyn, I think his Excellency is there for precisely that.Yes sadly for Igor he has become a bit stereotyped hasn’t he.
I love the fact that this is just dialogue. And the name Igor is a definite winner!
You can’t go wrong with an Igor now can you. Thanks for commenting.
Just perfect! 🙂
Penny you are too kind, you are setting a high bench mark for me to achieve each week. but I’m up for it, I think!
Yes you are, totally!!!
