Your eyes don’t see colour,

But together we rejoice, listening to my descriptions,

Your laugh joyous over the riot of hues I paint,

On your fingertips then onto your heart.

Very original approach. I like the third line!

I’ve often wondered what it would be like to be color-blind. I’ve always seen color, so it would seem like a real loss to lose the ability to see it.

Thank you and hello Rose, thank you for reading and commenting on my blog. I have a friend who is colour blind, he has all sorts of trouble call out winning raffle tickets as he can never tell what colour they are.

  3. Sigh. This is so lovely and tender. I think the third line is my favorite, but the final line is a very close second. So beautiful!

  4. I adore the fact that despite the lack of colour in their life, the recipient of your descriptions still laughs joyously at your attempts to describe them. Making the best (and most) of what we each have is an art, indeed. Beautiful work.

Thanks Freya. Life is a combination of what we see and what others tell us they see as in art, as in the bloggers who write in here. Often readers will tell me things I haven’t seen and this is a good thing. We all respond to any art work from the background we come from. The blind may not see but they can share our enthusiasm and love of nature.

Those last 2 lines are beautiful. I can feel the enthusiasm of the person describing colors. 🙂

  7. Such a thoughtful thing to! Lovely story.

  8. The imagery of seeing color only in togethrness is a strong one.

  9. A horse of a different colour. I like your take on the challenge.

  10. I’ve always tried to imagine what life would be like if a sense that I take for granted were suddenly removed from my life. I love the idea of having someone to guide me through it, if it were to happen. Thanks for linking up. Remember to come back and vote.

  11. This is so touching. Just beautiful.
