Bozo /friday fiction

Bozo

My party was going great until the clown arrived.

Mum had decided to step away from her normal conservatism and hire a party clown.

Bozo was just that.

A Bozo.

What a waste.

He spied our old piano.

He said, “I can play chop sticks.”

It was too good to be true.

I said, “It would be better if you could find the chop sticks.”

“And where young man are they lost?”

“We dropped them down the piano.”

“I’m good in small spaces,” he said.

The photo opportunity was too good to resist.

Very sly. You have to feel sorry for the clown.

  2. Joe Owens's avatar Joe Owens says:

Bozo is willing to do whatever to please his hosts.

Thanks Joe. I think Bozo reflects desperate times, when you suck at being a clown you’ll do anything to please.

Always placing the customer first, or is Bozo just a bit naive?

  4. Very clever. Poor Bozo. Hope the party went well after that.

Well the thing is, the party did go screamingly well, but for Bozo, well, how do you follow an act like sticking your head in a piano?

  5. Sounds as though they’d been better off if Mom had stayed true to her roots. Can’t believe even a bozo fell for that line although, on your side, it was a good one. 🙂

They should be reported to the AACC (Association Against Clown Cruelty). Good characterisation and plot. Ann

  7. Bozo is a dedicated clown! I’m glad my mum never hired a clown on my birthday.

  8. Dear Summerstommy,

A hearty welcome to Friday Fictioneers. A little like the Hotel California. “You can check out anytime but you can never leave.” 😉

Cute story. A good photo is worth 1000 words…or, in this case, 100.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle
